Yes, Sebas Chan!

I found Kuroshitsuji (The Black Butler) not too long time ago and it was by coincidence. I really, really, really love hot guys in suit and the first time I laid my eyes on this sexy butler, I was like “Can I have a butler like that, please?”. Hehe, I guess everyone thought the same, ne.

For someone who didn’t know, Koroshitsuji (Black Butler) is a manga written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. Since its debut on September 16, 2006, it has been serialized in Square Enix‘s shōnenmanga magazine Monthly GFantasy.

The series follows Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler who is bound by a supernatural contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the thirteen-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble family and the business-savvy owner of the Funtom company, a toy manufacturer. In return, when Sebastian has helped Ciel finish all of his tasks, including avenging his parents’ deaths, Sebastian will be allowed to kill him and consume his soul – Source Kuroshitsuji Wikipedia.

Yup, Mr. Sebastian here is a demon, and he is a sexy one, right? For a demon, he took his butler role quite seriously. He obey Ciel order very loyally and never complain. Seeing him in his black and tight suit made me melt. He has those sexy eyes (Some people refer it as rape eyes).  It’s also so adorable that he really love cats (even a demon has a cute side, right?). I also love it when he just being a comical relief (I really want to take him home as the chibi one). And when he is fighting, just make me kyaaaaaa… (All my brain system is just fangirling right now).

I already read many shōnen and shoujo manga. And I already saw enough cool hero/main character but Sebas chan definitely the sexiest. Sebastian definitely one of a kind. He is distinctive from the other manga character I have read and it really amaze me how the mangaka, not only draw him well, but she also (I don’t know how to put it) gave a cool and hot aura in her Sebastian drawing. Like, without giving any describing about the character, we already know how the character was by looking at his/her behaviour, eyes, and even how they smile, and that’s what I call good mangaka.

I almost forgot, at first, I thought this manga was a yaoi one, but it was actually not.  It is hard to believe though because, you see, the way Sebastian and Ciel treat one another is too intense to let it go just as servant and master, right?  and I definitely not agree about Ciel and Lizzy. I prefer Sebastian with Ciel. (Prepare to take my ammo and helmet, in case someone want to start a ship war, hehe)

It seems, in the end, I just make some random rumbling about Sebastian but the point is Sebastian is definitely one of the hot anime guys. And I really want a butler like him, and then make him fall in love with me and live happily ever after (Wah, daydreaming, daydreaming)!

What about you? Do you want a butler like Sebastian Michaelis?

Thank You for visit 🙂

Hikaru No Go, The Losing Hero

Last week I finally finished my marathon on reading one of  my memorial manga (after finally download it to my cell phone). I first know the series through its anime. As you can see from the title above, it’s Hikaru No Go. I am pretty sure, some of you might have heard of it but, for some who haven’t, let me write a bit of the summary for you.

Hikaru no Go (ヒカルの碁, lit. “Hikaru’s Go”) is a manga series, a coming of age story based on the board game Go written by Yumi Hotta and illustrated by Takeshi Obata with an anime adaptation. The production of the series’ Go games was supervised by Go professional Yukari Umezawa (5-dan). The manga is largely responsible for popularizing Go among the youth of Japan since its debut, and in other areas such as China, South Korea, and Taiwan. – Hikaru no go Wikipedia.

Warning! Spoiler ahead!

The plot itself tells about the journey of Shindo Hikaru to become a great Go player. Hikaru met a Go player spirit from the Heian era named Sai Fujiwara. Because of Sai’s passion in Go, even in his spirit form, he still wished to be able to keep palying Go and attain the Divine Move (a perfect game). His spirit reside  in a Go board that belong to Honinbo Shusaku (a real life famous Go player at Edo period). The board later found by Hikaru at his grandfather’s shed and that was the first time Sai made an appearance in front of Hikaru. He asks for Hikaru’s help to let him play Go through Hikaru’s mind (he dictate the move to Hikaru). Even though Hikaru reluctant at first, he still fulfill Sai’s wish and his first opponet was Touya Akira son of Touya Meijin, the famous/pro Go player at the modern period (world where Hikaru live now).

Akira is the same age as Hikaru but he already aiming to become a pro player like his father. But Sai defeat him easily (game that more of teaching than beating). Since then Akira think Hikaru as his Rival (in reality, it was Sai who beat him). In other hand, Hikaru who saw how passionate Akira chase him start to show his desire to play Go with his own ability. At their second meeting, Akira defeat him and stop thinking Hikaru as his rival. Hikaru’s pride was hurt by this. He wanted to make Akira to see the real him rather than Sai.  So, he then start to learn Go seriously (taking course, start to take part in formal game, and practice every night with Sai) and finally develop his Go ability in very short time and keep up with Akira (even Sai recognize his ability).

Because, along the way he beats and attract the attention of some pro player (this was Sai’s), he become famous as Akira’s rival. No one believe this at first but after having see or match with him, they all recognize his power. And after some time, Sai’s never play a game even once (Hikaru was to busy with his tournament). So, after some break from tournament, he fulfill Sai’s wish to have a match with Akira’s father. They do the match through internet (they cannot show who the real Sai was). With fierce battle, Sai won the game but apparently Hikaru know the right move to counter Sai that can result in Touya’s win. Sai’s realize the purpose he still stay in human world (which is to teach Hikaru that later would teach the next generation – preserve Go perhaps). He also realize his time have come to leave Hikaru. Hikaru didn’t realize when Sai was gone (he was too sleepy).

Hikaru search for him and blame himself for not let Sai play many game. He stop playing Go, even Akira cannot persuade him to come back. It was after he decided to play one match that he know that all along Sai was in his game.  Hikaru make a come back pursuing Akira that was far ahead of him. Winning, losing, and gain experience to achieve the divine move.

That was quite long for a summary, ne? Gomen. The summary was just a general sum up of the story, to feel the soul of the manga, you have to read it by your own eyes and give your own thought. But I guarantee you, you’ll love it.

Now, for some thought of mine. Honestly I don’t know nothing about Go and have zero interest in learning it (it seems to complex). But you see, I love shōnen manga (I’m a women and quite dislike shoujo – some of them are too moe, I prefer romanticism in Shonen though) and I like it when the shōnen hero get praise by the other character or have a strong friendship (One Pice). Hikaru and Akira have a very, very sweet rivalry (don’t mind me, I’m just in my fangirl moment)

I like how the writer develop Hikaru and other characters in this manga. He start as nothing and even has zero interest in Go, but the need to be recognize as himself with his own power give him the motivation. Hikaru seems real to me. His character trait feels real. He’s not some kind of super manga hero that born with super power or intelligent to solve every problem. He trained a lot and loses many time (to the point that irritates me, coz I really hope he would win). But that’s reality, right? People cannot win a game one after another, right?. He even sometimes felt depressed and scare of losing, but he always get back on his feet after realize the problem. He also a nice kid, even though he always scold Sai, he really care for him. And about the other characters, their jealousy over one ability did not make them a bad guy, it just drive them to do better. Especially Hikaru, even though the other person is the rival, outside the game, he still thinks them as friend.

Hikaru’s journey isn’t always up. It has its down. Until the end of the manga, as long as I can recall, Hikaru never wins against Akira (their last game result was unknown). He even lose at Hukuto Cup (China, Japan, and Korea). Many fans even critic this lose, I even sad myself, I really hope he would win. But I guess the writer wanted to show us that Hikaru will grow even more, that the Go generation will rise and develop (because Hikaru lose and he won’t give up). I really wanted to see the next Hokuto Cup. Will Hikaru definitely win this time? But why oh why the manga have to meet its end like that. It was still beautifully ended, of course, but I want more….. (in the slightest hope, I always wait Hotta sensei will continue it somehow. Hope won’t hurt, right?)

And I really love the art. When the manga begin, Hikaru just a six grade students. I read the manga in two days and at the end they were all high schoolers. It seems fast, right? But you don’t feel like it. The time seems flow naturally.

Huft, Wow, it end up quite long, ne? I hope who ever read this and haven’t read/watch Hikaru No Go (the anime was quite good, it has really nice opening and ending theme song) will love it as much as I do.

Sorry for the grammatical mistakes, hope it won’t hinder you to read my post or the manga itself. Thank You 🙂

Gintama, Bunch Of Crazy Characters

Several of the major characters from Gin Tama ...

Hehe, here is one of my favorite manga at this moments. Yup, it is GINTAMA. The anime used to run in one  of  the TV channel in my country (Indonesia). But unfortunately, it stopped  because of sensors policy.

Probably many of you have heard or even read about Gintama. It’s one of the most popular manga right now.  Gin Tama (銀魂 Gintama, lit. “Silver Soul”), also known as Gintama, is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi and serialized, beginning on December 8, 2003, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. Set in an Edo which has been conquered by aliens named Amanto, the plot follows life from the point of view of samurai Gintoki Sakata, who works as a freelancer alongside his friends Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura in order to pay the monthly rent. – Gintama Wikipedia.

The manga has many funny gag and always play parody on another manga (Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto and Bleach) Just like the title above, the characters of this manga are a bunch of crazy people. From the main to the side characters. And for me, that’s the beauty of it. You see, we definitely know a comedic manga just by looking at its characters, right? So, first time seeing Gintama’s , I thought it was gonna be like the others samurai manga – a serious one. But I blown up right after seeing the opening. They were all good-looking, the men are handsome and cool. The women look pretty and some of them quite badass.  But their attitude are horrible (not in too bad way, of course). Oh wait, you need a lot knowledge of manga/anime and Japanese culture to understand the manga, but don’t worry, it’ll still funny even if you don’t. But don’t get it wrong, eventhough most of Gintama’s chapter are comedy, some of them are serious too (it’s a shōnen after all). They have good fighting scene too. I recommend the Anime for anime lover, coz it’s even funnier in motion.

First, there were the Yorozuya gang (a.k.a We Do Everything). Just like what they called, this gang mostly will do everything for money (well, sometimes their job ended without being paid at all). There were Sakata Gintoki (the boss), Shinpachi Shimura (The Otaku), and Kagura (the girl with super power strength).

Gintoki is, how should I write it, a retired samurai form the Joi war against the alien (Amanto). Yup, he is a retired veteran that try to support his life by doing odd jobs (he’s not that old even though I said he was a veteran). He has sweet-tooth, the worst one in his case. He is the most lazy shōnen hero, he likes reading Jump and always hope he could become like Luffy or Ichigo (he even dream to have a bankai and use kamehameha). If we talk about Gintoki, most of it will be talk about his bad habit. But hey, people didn’t born with just bad habit, right? So yes, this guy also have good quality. He has great ability in swordmanship, he cares a lot about other people, He’s smart, and behind all those idiocity, he usually deliver a very meaningful words.

The second person in Yorozuya is Shinpachi. Shinpachi follows Gintoki after he saved shinpachi’s sister. He was the epitome of the normal character in manga. He wore glasses that become his trade mark. The third one is Kagura. She joined Yorozuya after Gintoki save him from Yakuza (even though she was capable in defending her self). She is originally an alien from Yato clan (clan with superhuman power). She instantly follow every bit of Gintoki’s bad habit (picking nose, be a lazy girl). Even though, the three of them always bad-mouthed about each other, they definitely care and respect each other.

Then, there is Shinsengumi, a police force at Edo era serve the Bakufu. There are four notable character in shinsengumi.  The commander, Isao Kondo. he is a respectful commander. His subordinates are very loyal to him. He is  nice and care for other people but most time portrayed as a naïve person to the extent being and idiot. He became a stalker of Tae Shimura (Shinpachi’s big sister), seeing that she was Ok with hairy buttocks (which Kondo has). The next person is the vice commander, Toshiro Hijikata. He is a heavy-smoker (in one chapter, he traveled into many planet just to find a cigarette, read it, it was very funny, it even have parody of Dragon Ball). He is Gintoki’s rival in many thing. He likes mayonnaise so much to the extent put it in his coffee or rice. Then, the best swordsman in Shinsengumi, Sugo Okita. His character depicts him as a sadist. He hate Hijikata for breaking his sister heart and pay high respect for Kondo.  there also Sagaru Yamasaki whose speciality in gathering intelligence. Because of his spying duty, he always seeing in a room all alone eating anpan.

Then if there a police it means there is a bad guy, in Gintama’s case, the terrorist. The terrorist mostly the remnant hero of the Joi war, they try to destroy the Bakufu (the bakufu allying themselves with amanto). There are two major terrorist in Gintama, Kotaro Katsura and Shinsuke Takasugi. While Takasugi is the real bad guy (I think, he is the only character in Gintama that never make people laugh), Katsura was the opposite. I like Katsura the most. He has straight long hair. When you see him for the first time, you’ll think he is a serious person, ambitious, strong, and respectful leader (at least, that what I thought). But after few minutes he got his dialogue, you’ll see, he is a complete idiot. His famous catchphrase is “………. ja nai. Katsura da”.

There’s also the Shogun that doing the silliest thing with a serious face, a useless grown men, a female ninja who love SM play, a hemorrhoids ninja that fight for the next Jump issue, and many tsundere female.

There still many character that worth mention in this hilarious manga, but I cannot jolt them all down because my eyes are too sleepy right now, so maybe I will update it next time.

Before I close this poor writing, I’ll give you some link to what-I-thinks are the funniest chapter of Gintama (I choose it f0r the first timer).  If it is your first time reading it, I hope you’ll like it as much as I do, and if this your second time, I’ll really glad if I could share the joy of Gintama with you 🙂

Gintama 202

Gintama 231

And my favorite arc was Gintama 386 – 399. You can read it here

And the last, sorry for the grammatical mistake, I’m not a native speaker and I don’t really like Grammar Subject. I hope the mistakes won’t prevent you to enjoy my writing.

Thank You!

So, is this mean NaruHina canon?

Ok, answering my own question, I guess the answer was yes. At the latest Naruto chap, we could see so many NaruHina (Naruto and Hinata) moments (and it was an intense one in my point of view). The first page opened with Naruto still in shock of Neji‘s death (poor Neji). Obito add the guilt with the classic preach (You fail in protecting your friend, Bwa ha ha ha – sort of). Naruto seems down, obito seems confident (and actually hoping Naruto to answer. I think Obito actually wants Naruto reassure him?). Then “SLAP”(literally), Hinata show her love by slapping Naruto right on the cheek (I don’t mean sarcasm here). Yup, with Hinata’s slap Naruto seems back to his conscious and rather hearing Obito ridicule, he start to listen Hinata’s words of courage. And that’s my friend, was my plus point to Hinata.

Honestly, I never taking seriously any pairing in Naruto (not even Kusina and Minato – don’t glare at me, please) because you see, for me Naruto always be a shōnen, so even though there would a little bit romance here and there, once again, TO ME it’s just for fan service. But because Kishimito still add them right here and there (lately, I really love saying right here and there, hehe), I really don’t mind them. But then I saw some people quietly insist SasuNaru (Sakura and Naruto), it kinda pisses me off (just a little bit compare to the IchiOri fan).

I know this pairing will become canon after seeing Hinata cheer Naruto before his fight with Neji at Chunin Exam. You see, Naruto is the kind of hero that usually find his own resolve in the end. So, seeing him being push to his best by the female character, difinitely means something, right? And that was what Kishimoto tried to show us through Hinata.

Hinata’s development as a character is in par with Naruto (not the power-wise of course. It was like that she is prepared for the latest chapter. And it really works, I guess coz it seems natural for her to do so.

And the most important thing was how our hero – Naruto himself, react to Hinata’s words. He remember what Neji’s said before his death “Hinata sama will sacrifice her life for you” kind of. It means Naruto finally realize how deep Hinata’s care for him. And this was proven by how he held her hand in the last page.

So, I guess after this chapter any war between NaruHina and NaruSaku will end, because I think it’s finally the time for everyone to accept the winner – and thats by all means is NaruHina – even though, I still prefer SasuNaru all the way of course (hehe, fangirl dream)

Naruto 615 - Page 17

Oh yeah, side note! I prefer Hinata in short hair I guess, it will look better in the last page when Hinata’s hair got up by the chakra, I GUESS!

So how about your answer?

Ichigo Knows Rukia’s Butt

yup…..yup…ichirukiers, to me, there was a slight ichiruki moment in bleach 519 – a butt was floating on the hot spring (where was the Ichiruki in that?)! well, here it was:

Ok, so the sequence was like this. first, we saw byakuya‘s head floating out of nowhere and then hot spring royal-guard guy pulled renji’s head – we all know it was renji from his hair, of course. then, the next panel, Ichigo was screaming “rukia too”. I had to see it twice to make sure where was rukia because by one look, all I see was a drowning head and a big peach (hehehe). then I realise it was rukia’s butt and one thing that cross my mind was “oh wow, ichigo recognize rukia by her butt“. really, it give me huge grin on my lips. and at the last panel, is that a shōnen blush ichigo have there – Hehe *wink*
